“Designers King and Nineth incorporated their Mexican heritage into the name of the line by pulling inspiration from two iconic female figures, Marilyn Monroe and Maria Felix, often called “the Mexican Marilyn Monroe”. Felix, a legendary actress, is remembered for being ahead of her time, a fearless outspoken beauty, breaking necks and breaking hearts, she called her self “a woman with a man’s heart” while others respectfully referred to her as “La Doña, La Generala” translated to mean “the lady boss, the general”. Needless to say, Mama Doña is inspired by sexiness, femininity and old Hollywood glamour. Mama Doña is lady like, with her nose up high, mysterious yet outspoken.”
