The Inner City's Cliche

For girls like me, summer’s more of a Netflix season than time for hot flings and fading drunken memories. Last summer, During some much needed artistic isolation I stumbled Across “ Just Another Girl On the IRT “ (1992).

The film’s about Chantel, An articulate yet headstrong teen girl from a brooklyn project. From the surface, she’s just another girl on N.Y public transportation ; Successfully managing to keep a job, straight A+ report card and overactive social life. She has big dreams of Flying the coup but a hardhead and high libido leave her in a permanent dilemma growing too fast to control.

Chantal’s slick city talk, hard attitude & edgy urban 90’s attire lured me into watching this movie millions of times(exaggerated of course). Aside from teenage pregnancy, She makes the life of a brooklyn bred young Braid-ess look soo free & exciting(-public housing)

Most of the trend’s she sported  have made a comeback or have the crying  potential to in the near future.  Below are a few looks put together to stir up your inner chantel, Or at-least  revamp the wardrobe of  her now twenty year old character.
