The Inner City's Cliche

” October 8, 2011 is a special day.  We(HypLAnd) released our first collaboration shirt with Usual Suspects(U$).  The design process first started last year and was inspired by a quoteof Brother Malcolm X.

– United $nakes of America – Malcolm X (see the snake print in the U$?)

After months of delay I brought the idea up to Philly Blunts(U$) and he was with it 100%.  The rest is history

This shirt has several meanings for us but that doesn’t mean your understanding of the shirt is less important.

Meanings:

1.  The obvious Malcolm X quote(United $nakes of America) – It represents the money hungry whether it be anti-money hungry or pro-money hungry.  Which brings us to our next meaning

2. Take Over Wall Street- This month wall street has been invaded by dissatisfied Americans. Several of our friends have spent the night to protest against the budget cuts, corruption, etc.

3. Philly Blunts- Philly Blunts not only owns a clothing company but is a rapper.  He released a mixtape (Corrupt Ways) on 9/11, which is arguably one of the most important events in Modern-American history.
