A few words from Chuck, one of the founders ;

Surprisingly I’ve been working on this ELLDEVINE project for the last 5 years before I even thought about rapping, graphic designing or directing videos. The summer of 2006 was one of the best summers of my life. It was a time where me and the homie Trent finally saw what freedom meant since we just graduated high school and had finished one year of college. We were out and about mingling, shopping, experiencing everything for the first time in all reality. During this time we some how came to the conclusion that we wanted to start a clothing line. With the sucess of start up brnads like The Hundreds and Crooks and Castles we figured hey why not just start a line. Well after about 5 whack names we some how came up with ELLDEVINE which is a blend of his middle name (Elliot) and my middle name (DeVore). Our first t-shirt designs were cool at the time but nothing really stood out. Plus it didn’t help that we were getting our shirts printed at a kiosk in the Fox Hills Mall. Each year since 2007 we were going to launch the brand through t-shirts but for some reason we just never did it. Whether it was money, ideas being whack, or just us not caring enough we had a million pit falls that made us even question wheter or not we even wanted to still do it. Our line went several directions and tons of ideas were balled up and Black Mamba’d. Then once we finally came up with a solid idea. We realized one thing………..we had noooo money! This shit cost money man. Well a few months past and we came across these hats which amazingly coincided with how we wanted to direct ELLDEVINE and it was a blessing. We decided to deliver these hats to you as the first piece from the ELLDEVINE collection.
