The Inner City's Cliche

If you have been keeping up with current events, you probably have heard of Troy Davis. He is currently on Death Row in Georgia falsely convicted of killing an off duty police officer by the name of Mark Macphail in Savannah in 1989. The State prison officials have denied him the oppurtunity to take a polygraph test.  Here is a petition that will allow you to make your voice heard, and help to insure that Justice prevails.

There are three main  points that would confirm that he has been convicted on false grounds. The ballistics anyalisis at his case proved “wrong and misleading”. A federal judge in 2010 has found that a jailhouse informers testimony that Davis confessed to killing an off-duty officer is false and prosecutors were in full knowledge of this. Lastly seven out of nine witnesses for the trail have contradicted their own testimony since 2009. Despite many appeals for clemency  from people such as the Bill Clinton, Pope Benedict XVI, George H.W. Bush, Desmond Tutu, Jimmy Carter, and the President of the NAACP Benjamin Jealous Davis still remains on Deathrow.”Clearly, the fact that Mr. Davis’s death sentence rests in part on ‘patently false’ and egregiously inaccurate and misleading testimony, evidence and argument renders the death sentence fundamentally unfair, unreliable and therefore violative of the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments,”  says his attorneys. If Troy Davis is put to death it will contradict America’s whole legal and constitutional system which needless to say is already questionable and in need of major reform. This will not be an execution it will be a LYNCHING!!!!  With all this said don’t sit and wait around to hear the results, take an active part in this and make your voice heard.
