Jae Helps Japan
” Jaélen became interested in helping Japan after seeing a few brief videos of the damage caused by the first earthquake and tsunami that happen on March 11th 2011. He immediately showed concern for the children wanting to know how they would sleep, eat, who would help them and where there houses had gone. After explaining that their help would come from donations he implied that he’d like to donate. Since he is only four I had to make sure he knew what donating meant and ways it was done.
After several conversations about ways to help and what helping means we thought it would be great if he did a t shirt and teddy bear line. While finger painting HE created what would be the “Jaé Helps Japan” design, his interpretation of the Japanese flag with his hands reaching out to offer help.
A scan of Jaé’s finger paint based design was used to create amazing digital artwork done byClark Butterfield, and with a large amount of t shirts purchased “Jaé Helps Japan” was born.
